A hush settles across the prairie as a storm brews on the horizon — dramatic, powerful, and full of movement. Prairie Storm 2.0 captures the moment just before the sky opens, with rolling clouds of deep violet and cobalt pulling the viewer into nature’s unfolding drama. Below, the fields remain alive and untamed, their vivid greens whispering of growth, resilience, and the rhythm of early summer.

Commissioned as a companion to the original Prairie Storm, this version shifts in tone — keeping the emotional intensity of the sky while rooting the land in greener tones, reflective of a different season and memory. Created using my signature method of acrylic underpainting and oil finishing, the piece is rich with layered textures that bring depth and energy to every inch.

Both versions of Prairie Storm now live in private collections, celebrating the raw beauty and quiet strength of the Canadian prairie.
